Milton Keynes Humanities Building
The key challenge was to create a building that will complement the existing layout and bring with it benefits to the school as a whole. Our solution is a two storey building with a similar floor plate at each level; the form has been shaped to create enclosure and space externally and internally with a dedicated entrance into the humanities building.
The layout is connected via a circulation spine linking the entrance to the rear circulation this will allow free access from ground to first floor. The circulation spine is glazed at either end to ensure that those using the building are always walking towards light. The spine is also relatively short due to the two storey form of the building this provides greater efficiency and more effective linkages within the building.
