Seven people are gearing up for the ever-nearer Velo Birmingham, an exhaustive 100 mile bike ride to challenge Corstorphine + Wright employees!
After their first excursion in +30degree heat, they are probably the only people in the country who are delighted with the temperature drop. Taking over another Saturday, the team grouped together to take in the sights between Shrewsbury and Lake Vyrnwy in Wales – clearly not content with the Velo crossing counties, they decided their training should take them into another country! Their chosen route took them a staggering 75.8 miles in 5hrs 19min through beautiful scenery and various terrain, all over the local hills, and around the beautiful lake, all in preparation for their huge bike ride in a few months’ time!
A big development in their progress is a last minute switch of riders; Richard Ward (Senior Technician) is very unfortunately no longer able to take part – you’ll be missed, Rich! Swiftly taking his place is Stephen Lewis (Architectural Technologist), a keen cyclist who’ll be joining them on their next big training session.
Keep an eye on the GoFundMe page to see how they’re getting on raising money for the amazing Marie Curie! https://www.gofundme.com/corstorphine-wright-velo-bikers
