The Skelton Lake Services scheme approaches its next milestone as the project team researches and refines each aspect of the design in preparation for submission to Leeds City Council for detailed planning approval.
The concept expresses a series of pavilion buildings beneath a dynamic, unifying and undulating living roof gained unanimous support when first presented at outline planning stage. The team are now working with specialists from across Europe to refine the approach and to investigate the materiality ensuring the strong architectural vision remains the key driver.
Virtual reality technology is also being trialled to provide a fully immersive design review environment. The 3D/VR insights are invaluable to understanding the complexities of the internal arrangements and provides a new medium for our architects to flex their design muscles.
