Two of Corstorphine +Wright’s recently completed retail schemes have been shortlisted for the prestigious British Council of Shopping Centres Gold Awards 2013. Whiteley Shopping Centre, near Fareham and Bury Street, Abingdon are both on the shortlist..

The £84m Whiteley scheme, completed for The Whiteley Co-Ownership, a joint venture between British Land & USS, has been short listed in both the ‘New Centre’ and ‘Sustainability’ categories.  Whiteley was the first shopping centre to be awarded a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating earlier this year.

The Bury Street scheme in Abingdon, which was completed in February 2013 for Scottish Widows Investment Partnership & NewRiver Retail, has been short listed in the ‘Refurbishment and/or Extension (under £5m)’ category. This refurbishment saw the total transformation of a 1970s precinct into a high quality town centre, fitting for a historic town.
