Part of the regeneration of Mell Square Shopping Centre in the centre of Solihull, this scheme involves a refacading of the entrance to Drury Lane North and an elevational refresh to Mell House and the retail units below.
The site currently suffers from low footfall and dwell time, with a number of vacant units and a lack of identity in relation to the wider centre.
The refurbishment will include LED lighting to create a safe, inviting environment that can be used at different times of the day, along with new signage, painting and sofits lined with timber panels. A new entrance to Mell House with statement signage, new elevational treatments, bold colour contrasts and framed gazing will create a new sense of place and identity.
The new, fresh look of the site will increase footfall to the predominantly independent retailers and help to close a presently disjointed retail loop.
