The Network House development provides much needed housing in a key area marked by Wolverhampton Council’s Westside regeneration masterplan. The proposal sees the demolition of a much underused and neglected office block with retail at street side.
The new build will deliver some 113 apartments of 1 bed, 2 bed and duplex apartments. At ground floor, past the generous entrance lobby, there are 21 parking spaces; including designated accessible spaces, storage for 60 bicycles, a resident’s soft landscaped courtyard, and duplex apartments featuring double height glazing to maximise natural daylight and create the appearance of an active frontage at street level. Upper floors contain a mix of 1 and 2 bed apartments.
Whilst modern in appearance the materiality responds to the local character of local historic buildings. Our proposal will re-engage the site with the city, turning an inactive space to a desirable area for people to live within the city.
The building has been designed to accommodate step free access throughout.
