Corstorphine +Wright was commissioned by the owner of a brutal modernist-designed 1960s bungalow to create a more contemporary replacement dwelling.

We successfully obtained planning permission from Stratford-on-Avon District Council to increase the existing footprint and add an upper storey of accommodation to create a 5,500 sq ft family home of the highest quality.

The design concentrates on creating a light and spacious property focused around an impressive hall and landing. The accommodation consists of three large reception rooms with a gym and sauna, five bedrooms and five bathrooms, with upper floor terraces providing views over the new landscaped gardens and private golf course to the rear.

The architectural response was in the vernacular of a semi-rural location in a street scene made up from individually designed bespoke houses. Our creation exceeded our client’s expectation and we continued our commission by producing the detailed construction information.
