The Sirius Building, for Crosby Lend Lease, is a Birmingham City Centre mixed use development consisting of 182 luxury apartments, six retail outlets and 129 multi-storey basement parking spaces. At 15 storeys high, the building is a mixture of traditional brickwork, rendered panels and glass.
This exciting new project is the final phase of the development, adjoining the existing Orion Building on Navigation Street, which was also designed by Corstorphine + Wright and was completed in 2004.
A central landscaped courtyard links the Sirius Building to the Orion Building, giving residents access to more outdoor space and the established feature pools. All the new apartments will benefit from the already completed central concierge facilities.
The challenging site had many constraints, not least the presence of existing historic buildings which have been carefully incorporated into the development.
