Stratford Upon Avon High School

Warwickshire County Council appointed Corstorphine + Wright to design the first new secondary school to be built in the county in 20 years.

The proposals formed part of a wider property strategy, on which Corstorphine + Wright was appointed to provide advice on whether the existing school grounds should be sold for residential purposes to fund the new school.

Corstorphine + Wright masterplanned the development and were engaged to create an innovative and economical design for the school, including a community sports facility incorporating a new purpose built sports centre, hall, training facilities, full running track and all-weather pitches, all to meet Sport England requirements.

Designed to accommodate 1,400 students, the three-storey development consists of a glazed ‘street’, with colour employed in the circulation areas and teaching blocks to give identity and to assist orientation.
