Originally appointed to prepare a residential focussed feasibility study by the owners of the former SilverBlades Ice Rink in the centre of Birmingham, Corstorphine + Wright were further tasked with designing and delivering Birmingham’s first large scale PRS development on the site on Pershore Street.
The scheme delivers 336 new apartments, comprising 67 2 bed, and 269 1 bed apartments including ground floor, street facing commercial space, with the capability to increase with the proposed surrounding development of the area. The commercial space fronts the two main facades creating an active frontage to the scheme, reinvigorating the street scene.
The 11 storey development provides a number of resident’s amenity spaces including a large south facing, roof terrace overlooking Bromsgrove Street, accessed through the resident’s lounge, coffee bar and games room. At ground floor there is the main reception, multiple breakout areas, kitchen with the resident’s gym and wellbeing area in the basement.
