By Suzanne Ross – 21st December 2022

As another year draws to a close, we would like to extend our best wishes for this Christmas season to all our colleagues, clients and collaborators, from all of us at Corstorphine & Wright.

In 2022, we have been fortunate to continue to grow our portfolio of incredible schemes across the country and welcomed more talented individuals to our studios. This includes the launch of our latest studio in Newcastle, who are leading the way in our acute healthcare offering, and strengthen our presence in the North East, together with Darlington.

As we always say, our people are at the heart of everything we do. To aid the improvement of digital culture within the practice, we appointed Neil Carter as Head of Digital alongside the expansion of our senior team with several new Associate Directors. We have celebrated our colleagues’ promotions and education achievements with 7 of our team completing their Part III studies.

Our growing practice is reflected in our 2022 AJ100 ranking where we placed at number 22, from 24 in 2021. For the third year in a row, Corstorphine & Wright was awarded Architectural Practice of the Year at Insider’s Midlands Residential Property Awards.

There has been planning success for over 35 schemes this year and our work has been recognised for a variety of awards, including:

  • The Chocolate Factory was Highly Commended for ‘Best First Time Buyer Apartment’ at the First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards. It also won the Transformation Award at the Bristol Property Awards.
  • Perry Barr Residential Scheme in Birmingham with Willmott Dixon and Birmingham City Council won ‘Regeneration Project of the Year’ and our plots were highly commended in ‘Construction Project of the Year’ at the Insider West Midlands Property Awards.
  • Skelton Lakes Motorway Services scooped a National RTPI Award for Planning Excellence for the Natural Environment.
  • Nottingham Custody Suite was crowned winner of the Design Excellence Award at the Insider East Midlands property awards.

Our generous teams have supported charity endeavours ranging from Easter Egg donations, to counting miles walked, food bank collections and Christmas Jumper Day! We are thrilled to have collectively donated over £10,000 to charitable organisations close to our community’s hearts.

The continued success of Corstorphine & Wright is down to our incredible teams across our 11 studios. Here’s to bigger and better things in 2023!
