Research & Development Centre Newport, Wales

Corstorphine & Wright were commissioned to deliver a fit for purpose Research & Development Centre for the development of micro electronics and semi-conductors.

The building comprises both research and manufacturing accommodation as well as supporting office accommodation.

Our specific input into this project involved rationalising the previous architects’ design to seek innovative and value for money solutions.
We re-imagined the designs to include a simplified portal frame, providing savings in material cost and programme adherence. In doing so, we improved the interconnectivity of the spaces, attaching the office space to the manufacturing area, as opposed to housing this in a separate, unconnected block, and previously designed.
We successfully achieved a BREEAM Excellent Certificate for Design Stage for the new Research & Development Centre. This is a key milestone in demonstrating the project’s commitment to high sustainability and environmental standards.

Every project starts with a conversation.
Let’s discuss your opportunities, constraints and questions.
