Corstorphine & Wright is delighted to celebrate a remarkable achievement at the AT Awards 2026, with the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease receiving both the New Build of the Year and the Project of the Year awards.

The project was first recognised as New Build of the Year, before going on to secure the evening’s highest accolade, Project of the Year 2026, selected from the winners of the Small Project, Conversion, Retrofit and New Build categories.

The judges praised the project for demonstrating the powerful role that architectural technology can play in improving people’s lives, particularly through the delivery of environments tailored to specialist needs. Their recognition reflects the project’s commitment to creating a place that supports dignity, comfort and wellbeing for those living with motor neurone disease, while providing a welcoming setting for families, carers and healthcare professionals.

Located within the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust estate, the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease was designed to provide specialist care in an environment that feels warm, supportive and uplifting. Every aspect of the building was carefully considered to respond to the needs of its users, balancing clinical excellence with a deeply human-centred approach to design.

Winning both New Build of the Year and Project of the Year is a significant achievement and a testament to the dedication, expertise and collaboration of everyone involved in bringing this exceptional project to life.

These awards add to the growing recognition the centre has received and further reinforce its position as an outstanding example of architecture that delivers meaningful social impact.

Congratulations to everyone involved in this remarkable project. To receive two awards in one afternoon is a fantastic achievement and one that all those involved should be immensely proud of.
