Corstorphine & Wright is thrilled that our residential scheme on Upper Gough Street was granted planning consent by Birmingham City Council. This is the third consented scheme for Corstorphine & Wright on Upper Gough Street and complements several other of our projects in this area of the city.
The redevelopment of a former BCC surface car park site for clients Rainier Developments will compromise 111 high quality apartments designed around two south facing courtyards. New frontage on Upper Gough Street reinforces the street edge and introduces new townhouses to the city, whilst the elevation to Chapmans Passage reinforces the proposed new pedestrian link to the Peace Gardens.
Residents’ wellbeing and inclusivity is at the core of the design, reflected in naturally lit cycle storage, rooftop amenity space and ground floor accommodation that breaks out into the courtyards.
Last year, our office scheme on Upper Gough Street with City Realty Ltd was also approved and incorporates two unique commercial buildings which will provide flexible office space, roof terraces and restaurants at ground level which create a new pedestrian route through The Peace Gardens.
