C&W Makes a Mark with The Big Draw Festival

Since launching in 2000, the Big Draw Festival has taken place in over 35 countries across all seven continents, bringing more than 5 million people back to the drawing board.

The theme for this year’s Big Draw Festival is ‘Make a Mark’, celebrating mark-making as a form of playful inquiry and expression, inviting participants of all ages to see drawing as an evolving process and a tool for engaging with the world around them.

For the second-year running, Corstorphine & Wright participated in the festival, hosting an Architectural Walk and Draw in South Kensington. The event invited members of the public to join our architects in exploring local architecture, encouraging people to engage with the built environment in a creative and accessible way.

As a member of C&W’s Social Impact Network, I really enjoy creating opportunities for people to engage with architecture in meaningful ways and was proud to lead the initiative.

We were delighted to welcome 55 participants, including students and aspiring architects. The walk began at Michelin House, before taking in the Victoria & Albert Museum and concluding in the gardens of the Natural History Museum, where participants had the opportunity to sketch, observe and share perspectives on the surrounding architecture.

It’s always inspiring to see the programme of events that our Big Draw Organisers run worldwide each year, and we’re so incredibly grateful to them all, in particular our Festival Partners, who make the Festival what it is.
