By Suzanne Ross – 12th May 2021

Insider has announced its short list for the Emerging Property Person of the Year Award 2021 and Corstorphine & Wright Associate Director, Tom Harrison has been selected as a finalist.

This award was open to any person under 35 years of age who is based in the North East of England and works in a property company, and entrants should have made a real impact on the sector during the qualifying period. Having lived in the North East throughout his life, Tom is passionate about the region and his growing contribution to the transformation of the built environment currently taking place.

As an architect, Tom’s involvement in flagship projects in the Tees Valley – including the green energy and infrastructure scheme at Teesworks and at Teesside International Airport – mean he is at the forefront of landmark regeneration schemes that will help grow the economy of the region by generating new industry streams and with the creation of new jobs.

The Insider North East Property Awards 2021 will take place on Thursday 8 July at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead hotel and Tom spoke about the shortlisting: “It is an honor to make the shortlist, and to be given the opportunity to showcase some of the projects my team  and I are currently working on. The North East is a powerhouse for property innovation and to be able to shine a light on our region in this way would be amazing.”

Since qualifying in 2019, Tom’s career at Corstorphine & Wright has risen rapidly and he was promoted to Associate Director in December 2020.

Tom’s ascendency is one of the fastest witnessed at the practice, testament to his passion, hard work and dedication. The recent promotion to Associate Director speaks volumes about Tom’s impact on the practice and his leadership role within our Darlington Studio.

This is an exciting time for Tom. He possesses what have become increasingly rare commodities these days: namely, he’s good at what he does, he’s highly ambitious and is prepared to work extremely hard to deliver a high-quality service.
