We’re pleased to share that planning permission has been granted for our purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme in Leyton. A joint venture between J Group and Woolbro, the project will deliver much-needed, high-quality student housing in a well-connected part of London.
Replacing a redundant cinema, the development will create a vibrant new hub for students attending the University of Portsmouth London and other London-based universities. Our design retains the building’s original Art Deco frontage, and commercial space to the High Street. The scheme was commended at committee for its architectural quality and considered approach to the site.
The approved scheme comprises 261 student bedrooms, alongside commercial space and community-focused amenities. Thoughtfully designed study rooms, multimedia areas, and landscaped outdoor spaces have been included to support students’ wellbeing, learning, and social engagement.
