A new luxury 5-star hotel in Salisbury, the Cathedral Hotel, has been approved at planning committee by Wiltshire Council.
The proposal will transform the current vacant Grade II Listed hotel into a luxury 5-star hotel. This new hotel will include 13-bedrooms, restaurant, courtyard garden and rooftop terrace bar. At street level, the hotel’s façade will be restored, using inspiration from its historic features.
The scheme was described by Wiltshire Council’s Economic Development Officers as “essential to the long-term viability of Salisbury City.”
In tribute to Salisbury’s rich wartime history, the hotel sky bar is to be called ‘The Spitfire Bar’, paying homage to the client’s parents and many others in the area who were involved in the secret construction of Spitfires during World War II.
