3 Springwell Square Derby, UK

Corstorphine & Wright have developed proposals for 3 Springwell Square, the next major phase of the Becketwell regeneration in Derby city centre, on behalf of long-standing client St James Securities.

3 Springwell Square is a major new office headquarters completing Springwell Square.
The new city-centre workplace builds on Corstorphine & Wright’s involvement in Becketwell since 2018, following the delivery of The Condor build-to-rent development and the 3,500-capacity Vaillant Live performance venue.
Located on a prominent island site immediately adjoining Springwell Square, the proposals are designed to complete the emerging civic space and establish a new commercial address within the wider Becketwell neighbourhood and act as a catalyst for further regeneration on the remaining adjacent sites.
The architecture responds deliberately to the site’s contrasting contexts.

A curved and more open elevation addresses Springwell Square and reconnects with the historic geometry of Victoria Street and The Strand, while the building adopts a quieter and more landscaped relationship toward the residential neighbourhood around Macklin Street.
Providing approximately 9,921 sq m / 106,785 sq ft of Grade A workplace accommodation, the scheme combines flexible office floors with ground-floor activity an extended high-quality landscaped public realm and roof top amenity spaces.

3 Springwell Square is about more than delivering a new office building. It is about completing another important piece of the city, building on what has already been successfully delivered at Becketwell by Corstorphine & Wright and creating a new destination workplace in this key location
