Corstorphine & Wright has welcomed a talented new Associate Director to its team. With over 15 years’ experience in acute and primary healthcare design, Laura Ruxton joins Corstorphine & Wright from her previous role as Director of Dunwoodie Architects (DWA). Her substantial knowledge of healthcare spans strategic master planning, design and construction. We’re incredibly excited to welcome a new senior member of the team with such an exceptional skill set.

Laura’s impressive background includes several multi-million pound healthcare projects, including a £100m outpatient department in Malta. Laura has also worked on projects such as the A&E department in South Tyneside NHS Foundation, and Endoscopy departments in Sunderland Royal Hospital and North Tyneside General Hospital. Her portfolio includes work across both private healthcare and NHS trusts, giving her an in-depth insight into the inner workings of all aspects of the healthcare sector, and the ability to design for its ongoing needs.

Her new role as Associate Director with Corstorphine & Wright will see her growing and delivering our healthcare offering throughout the UK. Through BD and collaborative bids, she will be approaching healthcare clients and showing off the extent of her talents, working on some exciting and ground-breaking new projects.

With Laura on board, Corstorphine & Wright will be able to extend their support for clients to cover all aspects of healthcare, whether their need be primary, acute, or care and senior living. Expanding our contribution to the healthcare sector will include growing our already robust healthcare team, looking into further opportunities in the North East and further cementing relationships with consultants, contractors and clients.

Her journey with Corstorphine & Wright has already begun, and she is currently focussed on new projects for St James Hospital in Leeds and a couple of Care Home Developments.

Laura said: “I am very excited to develop the healthcare team at Corstorphine & Wright alongside Jim Hart, Steve West and Julie Smyth. We have worked previously as a collaborative team on a number of successful bids. Now my healthcare experience and portfolio are part of Corstorphine & Wright I look forward to expanding on this. We can provide a solid healthcare offering based on our long-term experience in the sector that will open new project opportunities for Corstorphine & Wright.

Our team’s aim is to ensure that all clients, contractors, NHS trusts, and consultants have Corstorphine & Wright at the forefront of their mind when they are considering what team should deliver their healthcare project.”
