Our design for a ‘Grand Design’ private residence has been granted planning permission.

Corstorphine + Wright are thrilled that the design for a contemporary new landmark residence within the Calthorpe Estate, specifically at land to the rear of No.30 Frederick Road, Egbaston has been given the green light.

The proposed plans are for an 8000 sqft, 5-bedroom private residence in the Edgbaston conservation area, and bookends a series of grand Regency and Victorian Villas.

The house uses the existing site levels to submerge itself into the landscape and this is complimented by a sophisticated landscape design concept of terraces, formal gardens and sculpture gardens.

The building features timber shuttered concrete cladding, zinc cladding and black metal framed glazing.

Previous attempts to gain planning permission for this site stretch back over 15 years with Corstorphine + Wright achieving consent last week at committee having been appointed to review the site 2 years ago.
