A new designer outlet centre at Scotch Corner has received a resolution to grant from Richmond District Council.

The new centre, located at the iconic A1(M)-A66 junction, which acts as a gateway to Scotlands, the North East and Cumbria, will be a place for well known brands to showcase products at discount prices and will address the limited provision of top brands in the area.

Featuring 84 retail units, 8 restaurants, 1041 car parking spaces, coach parking and landscaped public squares, along with a tourist office to promote local towns and attractions, it will create an estimated 700 new jobs.

Jeff Downes, director at Corstorphine + Wright said: “The designs for Scotch Corner will provide a successful retail development which not only thrives in its own right, but also becomes entwined with the fabric of the local scene, embellishing the existing characteristics of nearby towns and villages, creating a comprehensive and sought after destination within the UK.”
